Summer to Fall: Why not wear a Cape?
As the days grow colder and the end of Summer is upon us I started to lust over a new item on my fall wardrobe: the cape! Having seen it in some fall collections, on the high street, I decided on purchasing one and trying my twist on the Victorian inspired garment.
The Cape always had a whimsical and magical look to it that has been present in children's and fantastic literature as a special garment.
Com o fim do Verao a chegar, e os dias a ficarem cada vez mais frios, eu comecei a desejar vestir um novo artigo no meu guarda-roupa de Outono: a Capa! Depois de a ter visto em algumas coleccoes da "high street", decidi comprar uma e tentar um look com esta peca de inspiracao Vitoriana.
A Capa tem uma aura misteriosa e magica e esteve presente, desde sempre, na literatura infantil e fantastica como uma peca de roupa especial.
For this look I wanted to bring the Cape to the spotlight but, on the other hand, I also wanted to go for a young and fun look. To bring a little bit of youth to it, I matched the cape with a pair of leather shorts. As for the shirt I picked this blush pink bow blouse to match the cape on the ladylike vibe.
Para este look eu queria que a Capa fosse a protagonista mas, por outro lado, tambem queria que o look fosse jovem e divertido. Para trazer essa mesma juventude a este look, combinei a capa com um par de calcoes de cabedal. Por fim, para combinar com o look mais feminino da capa, escolhi uma camisa rosa blush de laco.
As for accessories I decided on this pair of suede black pumps and my new black sunnies. I also am wearing a new fuchsia mate lipstick that I just love with this look.
No que toca a acessorios, decidi usar este par de sapatos de salto alto, de suede pretos, e os meus oculos de sol pretos. Tambem estou a usar um batom fuchsia, de cor mate, que eu adoro em combinacao com este look.
Once again, I am matching items more affordable with others a little bit more expensive. For this outfit only the cape was a little bit more. I decided it was an investment piece as I would wear it a lot on the next fall and winter season's. The other items were very affordable: shorts from Zara (item on sale), blouse from Primark and shoes from Bershka. The lippie is from New Look and the shades are from Monki.
Uma vez mais, estou a usar pecas mais baratinhas em conjugacao com outras um pouco mais caras. Para este outfit, apenas a capa foi mais cara. Eu decidi que seria uma peca investimento ja que a poderia usar nas estacoes que se aproximam, Outono e Inverno. As outras pecas foram bastante acessiveis em termos de preco: os calcoes sao daZara (artigo em saldo), a blusa da Primark e os sapatos da Bershka. O batom e da New Look e os oculos-de-sol da marca Monki.
I just love this look! It's simple, classy and fun all at the same time. You can wear this outfit to go out for lunch on a chilly Summer day or even to go out for drinks, in the late evening, when a cover up is necessary! If you have a busy week at the office, why not change the shorts for a nice pencil skirt or even a pair of warm trousers?
Eu adoro este look! E, ao mesmo tempo, simples, classico e divertido. Podem usar este look para ir almocar num dia fresquinho de Verao ou mesmo para tomar uma bebida ao fim da tarde quando um abrigo e necessario! Se teem uma semana preenchida no escritorio, porque nao usar uma saia lapis ou mesmo umas calcas quentinhas em vez dos calcoes?
